This Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread Pecans recipe is a warm, cozy snack or dessert–delicious enough to bring a loaf to your neighbors!
It’s always exciting when new neighbors move into the neighborhood. It’s even more exciting when they have darling kids. I miss the early days when our kids were little, running carelessly around the neighborhood in bare feet, on their scooters or skateboards, or riding their bikes. So when we met the neighbors, I immediately thought about bringing them a loaf of fresh Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread with Pecans.
Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread Pecans Recipe
… the melt-in-your-mouth kind of bread, which I always feel good about making, because you get to use up the old bananas. What other kind of fruit tastes the BEST when it’s overly-ripe and mushy?
You really never have to toss the old bananas, as you can peel and freeze them, too, for this recipe.
So I got busy baking, and whipped up a batch of this yummy banana bread!
Later at the gym I saw the sweet young couple with their adorable children.
Sofia loved the bread – we told her it was all chocolate chips–no nuts–and she ate it, and LOVED it!
Ha ha. I love how parents can mix their words around to get their kids to eat certain things. We certainly did it as parents. Especially with the “green” foods that kids have a hard time eating. It’s great to disguise, occasionally share a little white lie, when it comes to food.(Sofia’s name changed for privacy.)
Here’s another way to add in something healthy to this recipe.
In place of bananas, have you ever thought about using mashed, cooked butternut squash? It’s delicious, too!
Happy weekend, Friends! ENJOY, and come back and tell me if you make this, and who you shared it with?
What’s your favorite way to use up old bananas?

I love that people still bring things over for new neighbors. Pretty much doesn’t happen in my hood.

I love banana bread and this sounds like a recipe I could actually make (not much of a baker). I was wondering about the size of the loaf pans. When you say small, what size are you referring to? I’ve seen some small loaf pans that would be what I consider individual pans. Looking forward to giving this a try.

banana bread all the way…lol!!!! I love making Banana bread! I brought some to our new neighbors several months ago (they too have adorable kiddos) and they LOVED it. Made a loaf of zucchini and a loaf of banana bread.

Love this. There’s a house for sale almost right across the street from us, want to move in so we can be neighbors! :)

Oh my goodness, that looks so delicious! We love slicing up slightly overripe bananas and freezing them then pureeing them into ice cream. It’s so good!
