As far as party punch recipes go, it can’t get easier than this one. You just mix equal parts lime sherbet with lemon lime soda.

I’ve served this at a Star Wars partyanda Minecraft party, and it will also be on the menu for this weekend’s Indiana Jones 9th birthday celebration.

With this punch, the key to making it work with different party themes is really how you serve it.

For this Minecraft-themed party, I decorateda straight-sided, clearstorage containerto look like a creeper, using adhesive vinyl. You could also use black duct tape rolls or sheets.

It would have been cute to change up the design a bit and make a Slime and call it Slime Punch!

Or you could use strawberry sherbet instead of lime and decorate the container to look like a Minecraft pig using pink, black and white vinyl or tape. With Minecraft, there are a lot of possibilities.

I used a Sterlite EZ Carry Letter storage container from Target and used three bottles of soda and three quarts of sherbet to fill it. Any leftovers can be frozen for another party.

It took me all of 10 minutes to decorate the punch bowl and plastic cups to look like a creeper!

The adhesive vinyl I use has a grid pattern on the back, so it makes it really easy to cut out the creeper’s features.

It took just a few minutes more to mix together the punch ingredients.

This punch is so easy to make and serve that I don’t even need a party as an excuse to make it. It’s perfect for those afternoons when Jackson’s pals want to come over to play Minecraft on the computer using his Gameband.

As any parent knows, when you have kids over to your house, they’re going to want a snack and something to drink!

So, I try to oblige and make it fun at the same time. (And then some days, I send them to the pantry to forage for themselves!)

Red licorice, cut in half and bundled together, looks just like TNT from the game.

Or you can serve up a creeper pizza that the kids help decorate.

I don’t stress too much over the time Jackson and his friends spend playing Minecraft or designing animations using Gameband’s PixelFurnace app because they’re not just zoningout on electronics. They’re using their creativity and working to together to craft some pretty amazing worlds and animations.

But, I also want themdoing other fun and creative things and goingoutside to burn off some energy.
